Christmas Gift Ideas: 5 Sweet treats from Sweet Caroline Pastry Shop

Christmas this year may be one of the gloomiest in our lifetime, but that should not stop us from sharing sweet gestures to make our loved ones smile while keeping safe at home. Since we won’t be using material things or meeting up with friends to share presents, how about sending yummy holiday pastries in just a few taps? This way, your gift can also be sent to your relatives or friends’ addresses fresh from the pastry shop! Here are neat gifts to consider from Sweet Caroline Pastry Shop for those who have a Php 500 – Php 1000 budget per head for the holidays:

1. Créme Brulée Cheesecake

Small: Php 485 / Large: Php 1,100

One of my favorites! I usually have low expectations when it comes to cheesecakes since a lot of shops are selling the same old recipe that feels dry, but this Créme Brulée Cheesecake is to die for! It’s my first time to eat a cheesecake that is soft and gooey for my tastebuds to enjoy. The crust also isn’t super sweet so the taste is well-balanced with the burnt-like flavor on top and sweet-cheesy goodness.

It can be enjoyed in two ways: Frozen and thawed for 1.5 hours for a gooey texture or just 20 minutes for an ice cream-like feel. Both are amazing!

2. Cookies and Cream Pie

Small: Php 500 / Large: Php 1000

Another personal favorite (tied with their custard cheesecake). This is a surefire hit for people who grew up snacking on Oreos or Cream-Os! It’s like eating a lot of the cream part without getting tired of its flavor. The cookie crust balances out the creaminess of the pie so you’ll surely find yourself wanting more spoonfuls throughout the day. It’s not super sweet, too!

3. Luscious Custard Cheesecake

Another unique creation that I’ve only tried now. This may look like Smores at first glance but it’s actually a Custard Cheesecake with gooeyness similar with the Créme Brulée Cheesecake. What sets it apart is the burnt marshmallow flavor on top. Unlike the Créme Brulée Cheesecake, this one needs to be consumed immediately as it tends to melt when left unfinished for over a day. It’s so good, though, so that won’t be a problem!

4. Carrot Cheesecake Torte

Definitely not your ordinary carrot cake! This one’s actually my sister’s favorite (and she’s a centennial a.k.a. Gen Z) since it’s nutty, moist, sweet, and easy to chew. Despite being flavorful, each ingredient complements each other to make consumers wanting more.

5. Banana Loaf

Small: Php 250

I’m sure majority of our readers are already familiar with banana bread; however, toss those ideas aside since this one’s a flavorful one! It’s easy to tell that the bakers were generous enough in putting in as much ingredients as they can to amp up the flavor. A good option for those who prefer pastries without sweet toppings.

IS IT WORTH THE PRICE?

I’ve personally tried all five and the Créme Brulée Cheesecake and Cookies and Cream Pie are my favorites! All five are yummy enough to be given as a gift since both kids and adults are sure to enjoy every delectable spoonful of Sweet Caroline Pastry Shop products. The people behind this local business have been practicing their craft for over 10 years, giving birth to one-of-a-kind pastries that are worth trying.

They use premium and quality ingredients which are mostly imported to satisfy their customers’ sweet tooth cravings. In fact, picking which to order would be the challenge as all five have their own unique twists that set them apart from commercially sold cheesecakes, pies, and tortes.
