These ‘DC fashion face masks’ come with every donation to Project 143 Oplan Sagip Gutom

Our extended community quarantine (ECQ) are getting gloomy as the days go by. To add a little fun this weekend, my sister and I tried to create simple post-COVID looks that go with the DC Fashion Face Masks from Filipino fashion designer Don Cristobal. Photos can be found below, together with details on how you can get one (or more) for yourself during ECQ.

Before anything else, a little reminder on the use of cloth face masks: According to doctors who have been discussing this topic over the radio (I can’t remember what station that was!), while cloth is effective in keeping dust away from your face, it isn’t enough to keep COVID-19 particles from entering the material if ever someone sneezes in front of you. If you want to be super safe in using face masks, sew in an extra layer where a filter can be inserted. Face mask filters are available online. Change the filter after every use and keep the cloth face masks clean by washing them often.

THE IDEA BEHIND ‘DC FASHION FACE MASKS’

In light of the global pandemic, Don Cristobal teamed up with friends to provide help to affected communities and frontliners. The team is currently on its third wave of donations for Project 143 Oplan Sagip Gutom and they’ve been providing a free limited-edition DC Fashion Face Mask for every Php 250 cash donation to their cause as a way of showing their gratitude for the support.

HOW TO DONATE

Send a message to Don Cristobal’s team at 09178536874 or via Facebook at facebook.com/dondoncristobal. Inform them ahead regarding your fund transfer, which can be sent to any of the following:

  • BDO: Dondon Cristobal – 007380004406
  • BPI: Dondon Cristobal – 3919107633
  • GCash: Dondon Cristobal – 09178536874

AVAILABLE DESIGNS

Various materials are available – from sequinned cloth to see-through pieces. I suggest that you get in touch with their team if you have any requests or inquiries on design availability. Remember that it’s easier to breathe through lighter fabrics! Though let’s not be super choosy in case the ones we want are not available. What we’re doing is for a cause and these stylish face masks just come as a gift! 🙂

It’s just heartwarming that even though Don Cristobal is already helping our countrymen, he still finds time to give back to those who share financial aid through simple tokens like these fashion face masks. Let’s all work together to survive this pandemic and bounce back stronger! ❤️

Tara, tulong tayo!

  1. Ganda ng mask. Good thing na may face mask filter pala, kasi sa new normal, required raw to wear face mask pag lalabas ng house. Pag ganito ang mask, pretty pa rin 😍😁.
