Here’s what you missed at the ‘Shake, Rattle & Run: Engkan2’ fun run for a cause last weekend

Run4UrLife series, under RED Sports by RED Entertainment, concluded their Halloween fun run event and night party last Saturday (October 26, 2019) at the CCP Complex in Pasay City. Shake, Rattle & Run’s second race, dubbed as Engkan2, gathered more than 2,000 runners this year – making it one of the most sought-after Halloween events in Manila this 2019.

Casino Filipino joined the Shake, Rattle & Run: Engkan2 as the official presenter alongside RED Sports by RED Entertainment and your Manila Millennial was there to snap photos with our favorite “creatures”. Here’s a rundown of the highlights, in case you missed it:

Getting frightened for fun

Runners at ‘Shake, Rattle and Run: Enkgan2’

Runners were able to interact with Filipino mythological creatures such as the manananggal, kapre, duwende, white lady, black lady, diwata, tikbalang vampire, and other famous horror characters. We, along with other runners, were able to take selfies with them (because we can’t snap photos with the actual creatures of the night!).

Leveling up from last year’s fun run, participants this year received P500 game coupons that they can use in any Casino Filipino outlets. That’s just one of the many items in their goodie bags! To make the Halloween experience more fun for kids and kids-at-heart, they went trick or treating in every booth, gaining candies, chocolates, and lollies along the way.

R.I.P. to this runner. Great shot!

RED Sports and Casino Filipino also held a costume competition, which resulted to the most exquisite combination of characters running along with other runners. A creepy Valak managed to grab third place while Mr. Bean took the spotlight for second place. Lastly, an eerie Annabelle doll on a rocking chair landed first place.

Regine Tolentino during the Zombie Zumbathon

At the latter part of the event, actress-TV host Regine Tolentino led the Zombie Zumbathon, which aims to help runners cool down after the race. To conclude the event, DJ Carlo Granadil served sick beats for the undead.

Running for a cause

Participants of the Shake, Rattle, and Run: Engkan2 fun run

As part of RED Sports’ advocacy, part of the fun run’s proceeds went to Dialysis PH – a support group for Chronic Kidney Disease patients. This means that all runners were able to contribute in providing assistance to those in need while getting fit and enjoying the Halloween event.

RUN4UrLife Series of RED Sports by RED Entertainment advocates fun in fitness through concept-centric fun run events. They are also the brains behind races like Singles Run, SongkRUN, Festival Run, and Sharp Run For Every Juan under the RUN4UrLife series.

Don’t miss the rest of their events! For more details (and more photos), visit RED Sports’ website and social media pages. Is there another fun run that you want us to check out for you? Let us know by getting in touch with  Manila Millennial via FacebookInstagram, or Twitter!
