‘Tis the season for beach trips and weekend getaways! Although it’s almost always like summer in the Philippines, we’re already on the official summer months. Just like any another season, summer also brings in fashion trends for those who want to bring their A-game anywhere for their OOTDs (Outfit of the Day). To help you decide on your next look, here’s a list of winning prints and photos of pieces that caught our eye during the Shangri-La Plaza Summer Fashion Show 2019: Sun, Sand, and Squad last Saturday (May 4, 2019) at the East Wing of the mall.

Nothing spells summer better than pops of color. Try the yellow-white-gray-black color combination creatively inspired by a sea gull on a rocky shore to inject more oceanic vibes. Or dive right in with cool blue, aquamarine, and turquoise, green sea anemone, and fiery coral shades of a world under the sea.
The color story continues with soft, pale pastels for sweet-toothed toddlers, or standout neon colors for the bold and beautiful. Stay fresh with the season’s coolest shade, sage green, especially when paired with crisp whites and neutrals.
Stock up on graphic tees and wear them with everything, from skirts to lounge bottoms, and under strappy dresses. Boiler suits have been elevated from utilitarian protective garment to stylish and functional summer piece.
Denim is forever a style staple with the runways and city streets seeing a millennial revival of the classic blue jeans of the 80’s and 90’s, and the girls rocking sexy denim-and swimsuit combinations.
Higher temperatures mean showing more skin. Go Kim K-esque by wearing spandex as outerwear, or don the sartorial pick of summer, shorts, which have morphed into ultra shorts this season – higher on the gams and in Crayola colors, to turn a few heads at the beach and on the streets.
Keep professionally cool and chic in tailored modern suits in ocean hues, and channel that inner bohemian with crafty, artisanal handiwork on maxi dresses for a relaxing day off. Sophisticated summer evenings call for couture in blue hues with dramatic big bows, fringes and ruffles.
