I’ve had OPPOrtunities to switch phones but here’s why I didn’t take them

Storytelling time! Since my blog has recently turned two years old, I took a stroll down memory lane to check the topics I’ve already covered. Halfway through, I realized that I’ve had one constant companion for almost a year now – a phone from one of the first brands who have also constantly shown support for Manila Millennial. This is part of the main reasons why I’ve held so dearly to my OPPO F5 since October 2017, when it was launched in the Philippines.

So you might be wondering why I chose this as my personal phone instead of going for the other ones that I’ve reviewed. The answer is simple: Aside from sentimental value, the price and quality are just right for me. Let me take you through my adventures with this phone real quick:

Before phones started venturing into multiple Artificial Intelligence (AI) features, OPPO was one of the firsts to launch a camera supported by AI that makes every selfie and photo look as good as they are in person. Aside from the F5, I was also able to get my hands on the F5 Youth, A57, F7, and F7 Youth – all of which excels in terms of mobile photography. With my current phone, I’ve nailed selfie moments even with celebrities – something that usually comes out in a blur in my previous phone.

Security features are also to boot with its accessible fingerprint scanner at the back of the phone, facial recognition, and lock codes. The fingerprint scanner makes it easy for me to quickly access apps like the Camera and capture rare moments like this:

The phone fits perfectly in my hand – not too big and not too small. It’s also very sleek and sturdy! I’d be frank that I’ve already dropped this more than 10 times but scratches and cracks only appear on my screen protector.

To top it all, OPPO is super affordable, so Gio and I were able to go matchy-matchy even with phones. He got the black one, while I got gold F5. It’s an ideal “couple phone” or family phone that you may want to consider on your next mobile phone hunt.
