‘Disenchantment’: Medieval misadventures to watch out for from ‘The Simpsons’ creator

Growing up with The Simpsons (1989) and Futurama (1999), some part of us has been influenced and has grown attached to the (sometimes dark and) witty humor and misadventures of characters created by Amercan animator Matt Groening. In case you’re just like us who are looking for new shows with the same spunk and similar animation style, then it’s time for you to get a dose of Disenchantment this August.

From the mind of Matt Groening comes this new adult animated comedy fantasy premiering on August 17, 2018 with 10 episodes on Netflix. We haven’t seen a trailer yet but Netflix Philippines has already released the first batch of sneak peek photos, which you can find below.

In Disenchantment, viewers will be whisked away to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they’ll find a hard-drinking young princess named Bean, her feisty elf companion named Elfo, and her personal demon called Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools. Who knows what misadventures await? We don’t so we’ll be on standby for this interesting find!

Animation is handled by Rough Draft Studios, the same team behind FuturamaDisenchantment has been produced by The ULULU Company for Netflix, with Matt Groening and Josh Weinstein serving as executive producers.
