5 Netflix shows to watch and watch out for (as of March 2018)

It’s already summer and we all know what that means – we are starting to yearn for that much-needed rest by the beach or at the comfort of our own homes. If you’re like us who allot more time for the latter, we’re guessing you might be up for Netflix and chill! If yes, here are some of the Netflix shows on our radar that you might want to check out:

JESSICA JONES SEASON 2

Jessica is back and she’s doing things her way this month. The second season was released on International Women’s Day (March 8, 2018), but in case you’ve missed it, watch the trailer below and head to Netflix!

What’s it about: New York City private investigator Jessica Jones (played by Krysten Ritter) is beginning to put her life back together after taking down her tormenter, Kilgrave. Now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why.

Krysten is joined by an incredible returning cast that includes Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, and new cast members Janet McTeer and J.R. Ramirez, among others.

A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS SEASON 2

You read that right. Unfortunately, there’s a second season to this dreadful series. Be forewarned, upon watching the official trailer, you will be subjected to a shack full of crabs, a tyrannical vice principal, murder, kidnapping, high fashion, unnecessary surgery, ravenous lions, and a great deal of herring.

Neil Patrick Harris, Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes, Presley Smith, Patrick Warburton, and K. Todd Freeman (among others) return for the second season. New additions to the cast include (but are not limited to) Lucy Punch, Nathan Fillion, Tony Hale, Robbie Amell, Sara Rue, Roger Bart, and David Alan Grier. Featuring ten cinematic one-hour episodes, season two of A Series of Unfortunate Events launches globally on March 30, 2018 on Netflix.

What’s it about: Based on the internationally best-selling series of books, A Series of Unfortunate Events Season 2 plunges further into the epic world of this darkly comedic mystery. Starring Emmy and Tony Award-winner Neil Patrick Harris, the series recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans – Violet, Klaus, and Sunny – and their extraordinary encounters with the devious Count Olaf who will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. Foiling his many dastardly plans and disguises, the young siblings discover clues to their parents’ mysterious death, links to a covert organization, and begin to unlock long-held family secrets.

LOST IN SPACE

If you’re up for extraterrestrial action, watch out for this new Netflix Original series called Lost In Space, which will be launched globally on April 13, 2018:

What’s it about: Lost in Space is based on the classic 1960s science fiction series. Set 30 years in the future, colonization in space is now a reality, and the Robinson family is among those tested and selected to make a new life for themselves in a better world. But when the new colonists find themselves abruptly torn off course en route to their new home they must forge new alliances and work together to survive in a dangerous alien environment, lightyears from their original destination.

A Netflix Original, Lost in Space stars Toby Stephenes (Black Sails, Die Another Day) as John Robinson, and Molly Parker (House of Cards, Deadwood) as Maureen Robinson, the family’s parental leaders who are struggling with their estranged relationship in the midst of trying to keep their family safe. Stranded along with the Robinsons are two outsiders who find themselves thrown together by circumstance and a mutual knack for deception. The unsettlingly charismatic Dr. Smith played by Parker Posey (Café Society, Mascot, A Mighty Wind); and the roguish, but inadvertently charming Don West, played by Ignacio Serricchio (Bones, The Wedding Ringer), a highly-skilled contractor who had no intention of joining the colony, let alone crash landing on a lost planet.

LUKE CAGE SEASON 2

You can’t burn him, you can’t blast him, and you definitely can’t break him! Marvel’s Luke Cage will be back with a second season on June 22, 2018. The announcement video was recently released and you check it out below, together with first-look photos that we got from our friends at Netflix Philippines:

What’s it about: After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin.
