5 Reasons why ‘Bili’ app may be the future of grocery shopping

Grocery shopping used to be one of my favorite tasks when I was a kid. I used to imagine supermarket visits as a game where you’re tasked to look for items in order to unlock the next level. It still applies today, but due to the horrible traffic situation in the Metro and the hoard of people flocking to malls, I’ve slowly given up on wasting time on the road, lining up to the cashier, and carrying heavy items back and forth.

Good thing the 21st century has finally paved way for everything that we need to be available via mobile. Manila Millennial recently stumbled upon a new mobile application that promises to be a “one tap shop for all your grocery needs”.

Bili is an online grocery mobile application that is downloadable through GooglePlay and App Store. They have their own warehouse which houses different local and international brands. That’s their main advantage vs competitors – they’re not just personal shoppers, they also have their own inventory of items! As soon as they receive the shopping list submitted by a customer, Bili staff will be gathering everything in brown bags, which will then be delivered by their riders on their customer’s doorstep.

Everything is already accessible via mobile, thanks to technology. We can’t help but think that this may be the future of grocery shopping! Here are five reasons why:

1. It’s super convenient

It honestly feels like buying from a supermarket or sari-sari store, minus the effort.

Bid adieu to long queues because you’re just a few taps away from everything you need. We were working when we placed our order and we received the items just in time when we finished our final deliverable for the day. Easy-peasy!

Bili’s Customer Service Representatives are also very meticulous. They’ll be calling you before the rider leaves just to ensure that the address and contact details you gave are correct. Even the list of items you bought will be provided during delivery in order for you to double check if they missed anything.

2. Serves the busy cities of the Metro

Here’s a photo of our brown bags when we received it from the rider. Neatly packaged and in ship-shape.

They are currently accepting orders to be delivered to Bonifacio Global City, Manila, Makati, Mandaluyong, Pasig, Pateros, and San Juan. As we all know, these are the prime hubs for businesses with employees who don’t have time to do errands. Hope they’ll add more cities to their list!

3. They adjust to your schedule

7-8 PM is the best time for us. Booking it!

You can place your order up to 14 days in advance. Time of delivery can also be adjusted depending on what time you’re available, as long as it fits their operating hours (7 AM to 11 PM) as well.

You know what that means: You can now plan for an upcoming party without wasting a second of your life. You just need to wait for the items at the comfort of your own home… or even at the office!

4. It’s a one-stop shop

Our movie marathon crate is now filled with yummy goodies. Thanks to Bili Philippines!

Most of the items you’ll need at home can be found here. Unlike our previous feature about a store that specializes in family-size bulk orders, Bili Online Grocery takes pride in their wide product categories and items that can instantly be delivered in small sizes. No kidding, you can even order one piece of gum or candy for only P1! Bili is also open for bulk orders though, but they need to be placed five days in advance.

Product categories include baby and adult care, bathroom essentials, drinks bar, housekeeping, kitchen, medicine, and snacks. You can pay for these through Cash on Delivery (COD) as of now, but who knows, credit and debit cards may be honored in the future.

Delivery fee is only P50, but you’re exempted from paying for it if your package reaches a total of P2,000.

5. Awesome promos

Snacking while checking other value-adding deals. ♥

Bili currently offers holiday packages that are quite hard to resist! Some of the interesting finds in their Christmas Bundles include:

  • Malamig na Pasko – For Him/Her (P350): Christmas bundle with chips, sweets, and alcohol
  • Pasko Na, Sinta Ko (P500): Snacks that are perfect for holiday movie marathons with your loved one
  • Pa-Noche Buena ni Mayor (P500): Family Christmas dinner must-haves (spaghetti, cheese, dessert)
  • Pang-Regalo ni Lodi (P550): Features cookies, sweet, and millennial-favorite SAMYANG!

You can find the complete list under a special tab for all promos. Make the most out of it and start placing your orders on December 21, 2017! Use the promo code BILICHRISTMAS for free delivery and get a chance to win a P500 Gift Certificate for every P1000 purchase until January 7, 2018.

Happy shopping, millennials! We hope this can help in your holiday preparations. ♥
